KENPO KARATE
I'm 16 and have been taking kenpo lessons for about 9 or 10 months. I'm studying for my purple belt and, after getting to grips with the basics, it's becoming more and more interesting. They're lessons I can actually look forward to (despite being at least 10 minutes late without fail!)
I think some knowledge of karate is essential for everyone, It has definitely changed my attitude to being out on my own in the evenings I'm much more aware and confident which in itself means I'm less likely to be targeted.
Kenpo hasn't only given me security, but has also brought out an
energetic and outgoing side of me that inspired me to make my decision to hopefully undertake a career as an officer in the army - it really has been life-changing!
I can't think of anything bad to say really, kenpo's a really sociable sport that is both mentally and physically challenging (and a whole lot
more interesting than goin to the gym!) The teaching is excellent and I have a lot to thank Mark and Leslie for (especially Mark after all the times my punches missed the mark or were a little to hard!)
Needless to say I have no intention of giving up just yet so watch this space!
